Frequently Asked Questions

Metalwood Garage offers two very different kinds of work: print-on-demand merchandise and original handcrafted metal artwork. They are created, purchased, fulfilled, and supported through separate processes.

Merchandise Questions

Is merchandise made in advance?

No. Most Metalwood Garage merchandise is produced specifically for you after your order is placed.

Who produces and ships merchandise?

Printful or another approved third-party production partner prints, packages, and ships merchandise. Metalwood Garage creates and licenses the designs, operates the storefront, and remains your customer-support contact.

Will it ship from the Metalwood Garage studio?

Usually not. The return address, packaging, or label may identify the fulfillment facility.

How long does production take?

Production time is separate from transit time. Dates shown online are estimates and may vary by product, facility, destination, carrier conditions, holidays, weather, customs, and order volume.

Can items arrive separately?

Yes. Products may be made at different facilities and ship in separate packages.

Can I cancel or change an order?

Contact us immediately. Orders enter production quickly, so changes and cancellations are not guaranteed. A cancellation is complete only after Metalwood Garage confirms it in writing.

Can I return an item because I changed my mind or selected the wrong size?

No. Made-to-order merchandise is not returnable for buyer's remorse, incorrect size or color selection, personal preference, an incorrect customer-supplied address, or an accidental order that entered production. Review all selections and size guides before checkout.

What if my item is damaged, defective, misprinted, or incorrect?

Contact Metalwood Garage within 30 days after delivery. Include the order number, a description, photographs of the full item and close-up issue, and packaging photographs for shipping damage. Do not return anything without written instructions.

What if my package appears lost?

Review tracking and check with household members, neighbors, building management, and the carrier. Submit a lost-in-transit claim promptly and no later than 30 days after the estimated delivery date.

What if I entered the wrong address?

Tell us immediately. Corrections are not guaranteed once production or shipment begins. Reproduction and reshipping costs may apply when a customer-supplied address is incorrect or incomplete.

Will colors and measurements be exact?

Screen settings, materials, print methods, and production batches can create minor differences. Size charts and product dimensions are approximate; review them before ordering.

Artwork and Commission Questions

Is original artwork purchased through the merchandise checkout?

No. Gallery inquiries, commission requests, and Build-a-Guitar configurations are handled directly with Metalwood Garage and do not create an online merchandise purchase.

Does an inquiry reserve a piece or start a project?

No. A project is confirmed only after the applicable written quote, proposal, invoice, deposit terms, or commission agreement is accepted.

How are custom prices determined?

Pricing can depend on size, complexity, materials, parts availability, fabrication, finishing, packaging, shipping, installation, and schedule. Builder and gallery prices are estimates or starting prices unless identified as a final written quote.

Can commissioned artwork be canceled or returned?

Project-specific written terms control. Once design work, sourcing, material purchasing, or fabrication begins, deposits and payments may become non-refundable. Original, personalized, commissioned, and made-to-order artwork is generally non-returnable except where required by law or agreed in writing.

Will the finished piece exactly match a rendering?

Handcrafted art made from reclaimed parts naturally varies in patina, wear, texture, welds, coloration, and component availability. Renderings, AI-assisted concepts, and reference images communicate creative direction, not an exact guarantee unless a specification is included in the written agreement.

How is artwork shipped?

Artwork delivery is quoted separately and may involve pickup, custom packaging, crating, freight, insurance, signature confirmation, white-glove service, or customer-arranged transportation.

What if artwork arrives damaged?

Photograph visible package damage before opening when possible, preserve every part of the packaging, and contact Metalwood Garage immediately with photographs of the package, artwork, labels, and delivery paperwork.
